What Should I Eat?

Great question! The first step to Easy Willpower is making a decision to change your life.

But then the issue often boils down to the simple question, “What should I actually eat?”

You get that diets don’t work in the long run—your personal experience certainly confirms that, if you are like most people who come to me for help with weight loss.

However, without a plan, how can you expect to be successful? You can’t! You need a plan!

With all the many ideas out there about how to lose weight, how do you know what to believe? One day you’re told that potatoes are healthy, the next week you’re advised to avoid them. What are you supposed to believe?

Get In The Zone

Well, the reason why there is so much conflicting information out there is simply because one man’s meat is literally another man’s poison. But the one thing that we all need to stay healthy and at our ideal weight is balance.

That’s right—the only way to lose weight healthfully and keep it off is to stay in the “zone” by eating a balance of protein, complex carbohydrates and healthy fat. That’s right—you can lose weight while you are eating healthy fat.

When I discovered that I could lose weight and stay at my ideal weight and health by eating in a balanced way, it was a huge turning point for me.

Stop the Extremes

Before that, I was always going to extremes. One month I was strict vegan-macrobiotic and the next month I was white knuckling it through the Atkins Diet. Of course, none of these extreme plans worked for me. All I did was gain weight and become more depressed!

Secrets to Success

But finally, I found the secret to successful weight loss! That was almost 30 years ago and I’ve been living at my ideal weight since then. What a relief! And, what a pleasure it is to share my journey with you.

The number one thing that I did was I quit eating sugar. That’s right—I quit eating sugar at a time when my Doctor was trying to convince me that sugar is good for me!

Imagine what would have happened if I had listened to him?

The first key to success is: Listen to Your Body.

Your body knows what foods are best for you, what foods you need to cut back on, and which foods you need to avoid.

So here’s the plan that worked for me and still works for me today:

1. Avoid sugar in all forms including sugar substitutes.
2. Avoid processed foods and chemicals.
3. Eat balanced all day long.
4. Keep your blood sugar steady.
5. Combine healthy sources of protein, complex carbohydrate and healthy fat, in small portions, and eat throughout the day, 3-5 times a day.

That’s right you can lose weight while you eat protein, complex carbs and healthy fat.

Here are some ideas and 5 typical meals that I enjoy:

• Romaine Lettuce, Broccoli Slaw, Extra Virgin Olive Oil mixed with Slender Cider, Salmon Filet, Goat Cheese, Dry Roasted Pecans.
Rena's Delicious salad

• Ground Turkey mixed with ground up Almond Meal, dipped in an Organic Egg, Sea Salt, Parsley, made into little Meat Balls and baked in the oven, served with a little Tomato Sauce (with no Sugar).

• Organic Ground Beef shaped into a small patty, slice of Cheddar Cheese and Avocado Slices.

• One or Two Organic, Cage-Free Eggs, sunny-side up, served with Sliced Avocado and Sliced Tomatoes.

• Organic Chicken Thighs with Steamed Cabbage Slices grilled and rolled up in slices of Grilled Eggplant.

These simple recipe ideas are quick and easy and should give you an idea of healthy, balanced meals that you can make for yourself.

The key to eating for permanent weight loss is balance. Crazy diets lead to crazy results, which often means fast weight loss and even faster weight gain.

Keep Your Blood Sugar Steady

Keep your blood sugar steady so that your body can start burning fat. Counting calories or points or avoiding fat just isn’t going to lead to success—not in the long run!

Sure, you don’t want to eat unnecessary amounts of fat—especially not saturated fat.

But just avoiding all processed foods and sugar will get you to where you want to go a lot faster than starving yourself by eating all kinds of processed, nutrient-devoid diet foods all day long.

So the first step to easy willpower is setting your intention to eat healthfully with self-respect and dignity.

Self-Hypnosis is like setting the GPS

Hypnosis can only reinforce what you consciously want to do, so you have to consciously make a decision—set your intention—to live your life healthy, happy and at your ideal weight.

Think of this step as setting your GPS in the direction you want to go. Hypnosis then actually writes the new program for health, happiness, freedom and living your life at your ideal weight, in your subconscious mind.
