Freedom from the smoking habit may be easier to obtain than some think.
Many are setting their sights on breaking the habit, according to Rena Greenberg, President of Wellness Seminars, Inc., in Bradenton.
The reasons to stop smoking are many. Topping the list are health-related problems. The bottom line is that smoking causes cancer, emphysema, heart disease, and premature aging, according to medical experts.
Wellness experts will show smokers how to break the habit in upcoming seminars. The two-hour session combines the power of hypnosis and behavior modification. Participants learn to stop smoking without weight gain or withdrawals, according to Greenberg.
Those attending learn to set goals, be assertive and enthusiastic about quitting and get hypnotic conditioning. The program features an abrupt cessation of the habit, she noted.
Hypnosis is a safe and clinically proven technique that relies on the participant’s ability to concentrate and use their imaginative skills.
Through hypnosis, the person goes into a state of deep concentration and deep relaxation where positive suggestions and images are administered to facilitate the desire change of behavior. The participant is always aware and in control at all times, said Greenberg, who holds two certifications in hypnosis from The Eastern NLP Institute, the National Guild of Hypnotists, and other institutes.
The first 45 minutes of the smoking cessation session is a free orientation. Participants who want to continue with the class pay $59. The fee includes a hypnotic session, a behavior modification booklet, a home reinforcement audiocassette tape, and unlimited free repetitions of the seminar if needed.
