Hypnotherapist uses Biofeedback Method
Tarpon Springs – With dozens of weight-loss techniques and hundreds of diet products on the market, choosing an effective slimming method can present a confusing challenge.
That’s one reason Rena Greenberg started Wellness Seminar Inc. 20 years ago in partnership with hospitals across the country.
Greenberg is a certified weight-loss hypnotherapist and biofeedback therapist. Through psychological reconditioning and behavior modification, she has helped more than 100,000 people overcome their addictive food cravings and maintain the right weight.
In the beginning, though, she was seeking a magic pill to beat the bulge. She soon discovered that what may cause one person to lose weight can have the opposite effect on another.
“In the long run, no supplement, powder or product ever worked for me to lose weight and gain health,” Greenberg said. “Ultimately it was, and is, an inside job, and this is what I am here to teach others.
“In my case, I had to learn that it was only by eating water-rich, unprocessed foods in a balanced way—healthy fat, complex carbs with animal protein—eating when I am physically hungry only, and exercising every day moderately that I can be healthy and at my ideal weight.”
She scheduled two wellness seminars on Saturday and June 6, at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital. The latter will include a book signing for her latest, The Craving Cure.
The book teaches a seven-step, self-hypnosis method called “The Break Your Craving State” that dieters may use anytime to short-circuit the cycle of overeating.
“The method uses imagery, affirmations, deep breathing, self-love, physical movement and focusing techniques to help break the pleasurable associations with the wrong foods in the subconscious mind,” she said.
In the book, she encourages a two-week mega-nutrition cleansing regimen that will prepare the body to start desiring healthier foods.
The Wellness Seminars will run from 6:30-8:30pm. The first 45 minutes are free; after that, participants pay a fee to continue the program. The money covers resource material and unlimited free hypnosis sessions for up to a year if needed.
